Join us Friday at 5:30!

The Friends of  the Rathbun Free Memorial Library will be hosting their wildly popular Fridays at 5:30 program this Friday. Our special guest is Craig Hotchkiss presenting Adventures of Huckleberry Finn: An American Story

Huckleberry Finn has been hailed as the greatest American Novel of all time, but it has also been the subject of intense controversy since it's first publication in 1885.  In fact, Huckleberry Finn is on a multitude of banned books lists. This presentation will examine the historical context and motivation for the book as well as address the continuing controversy surrounding it.

Craig Hotchkiss is the Education Manager at the Mark Twain House & Museum in Hartford.  Prior to his joining the museum staff he was a history teacher for over 30 years.  Craig holds a degree in American History from Bates College and an MA in American Studies from Trinity College.

A $5 donation is requested at the door, all proceeds benefit the Friends' efforts to support the the Rathbun Free Memorial Library
